SECURITY CLEARANCES
An Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) security clearance is an assessment to ensure that individuals handling sensitive or classified government resources are trustworthy, reliable, and possess a high level of integrity.
A clearance goes far beyond a standard police check. It is designed to confirm that an applicant has a sound character and is not vulnerable to coercion or blackmail. Clearances are mandatory for many roles within the Australian Defence Force, federal and state government agencies, and private sector contractors working on government projects.
Stop letting a lack of clearance hold your career back. Our Security Clearance as a Service (SCaaS) model allows you to turn yourself into a premium, market-ready candidate:
Skip the Filter: Employers are hunting for vetted talent behind closed doors. Bypass the HR filter by having your sponsorship already managed.
Command a Premium Salary: Cleared roles in cybersecurity, engineering, and project management routinely pay significantly higher than their commercial counterparts.
The Ultimate Career Hack: Let us sponsor your Baseline, NV1, or NV2 clearance. If you secure a role through Logi-Tech or the Para Bellum Group and spend 60 days on contract, we will reimburse your FULL clearance cost.

Security Clearance FAQs
1. What is a Security Clearance?
An Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) security clearance is an assessment to ensure that individuals handling sensitive or classified government resources are trustworthy, reliable, and possess a high level of integrity.
A clearance goes far beyond a standard police check. It is designed to confirm that an applicant has a sound character and is not vulnerable to coercion or blackmail. Clearances are mandatory for many roles within the Australian Defence Force, federal and state government agencies, and private sector contractors working on government projects.
There are four primary levels of clearance, scaling with the sensitivity of the information the individual will access:
*Note: Logi-Tech can sponsor Baseline, NV1 and NV2 Clearances. Positive Vetting is currently transitioning to Top Secret-Privileged Access (TS-PA), which will be managed by the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO).
2. Who is Eligible to Apply?
You cannot apply for a security clearance independently. You must be sponsored by an authorised department, agency, or organisation that has determined you need access to classified information to perform your job. This is how Logi-Tech can help!
To be eligible for an AGSVA clearance, you must meet two core requirements:
- Australian Citizenship: You must be an Australian citizen. Your sponsoring organization is responsible for verifying your citizenship before they initiate a clearance request. While a sponsor can elect to waive this requirement in highly exceptional circumstances, it remains strictly mandatory for the vast majority of applicants.
- A Checkable Background: AGSVA must be able to independently verify your history to properly assess your background. This means you need a traceable footprint of your life—including your residential addresses, employment history, financial situation, and education—spanning the last 5 to 10 years (depending on the clearance level). If you have lived overseas extensively in countries where records cannot be verified, or if your background lacks a paper trail, it may prevent you from obtaining a clearance.

4. Which Security Clearance suits me?
The Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance is the most commonly requested clearance level by the Australian Government and Defence. For infrastructure, building, and construction workers, a Baseline clearance is sought for defence-related projects.
Your clearance level should match your professional or business growth ambitions. So, which door are you trying to open?

6. The Process
We walk with you through every step of the ridgid AGSVA vetting process, making a complex bureaucratic system simple.
Step 1: Pre-Vetting Assessment
We run you through an initial screening aligned with Australian Standard AS 4811. Such as checking your ID and a brief interview conducted with you online. We also talk to you about your clearance needs, affirming which security clearance suits your situation or organisation the best.
Step 2: Official Sponsorship
We leverage our accredited DISP (Defence Industry Security Program) Level 3 framework to officially sponsor yours, or your employees' application, placing it into the AGSVA system. Logi-Tech's sponsorship begins from the date the invoice is issued and is reviewed annually from that date.
Step 3: Guided AGSVA Application
Our vetting team guide you through the data points, references, and background history checks required, ensuring your submission is flawless to avoid lengthy delays.
Step 4: Clearance Active & Market Ready
Once AGSVA grants your Security Clearance, you are officially in the system. You now hold a highly coveted, government-backed asset that makes you instantly employable across the entire defence and federal ecosystem. And for businesses, this unlocks a pathway to apply for defence-related tenders.

10. Did you know?
Security Clearances are no longer limited to Defence alone.
The Government operating environment is changing. Increasingly, contracts now mandate a clearance for any hardware or software-related work. This shift is no longer limited to Defence alone. Where work involves sensitive systems, protected information, or personal and medical-in-confidence data, an NV1 clearance is rapidly becoming the standard requirement. This includes work associated with: Department of Defence, Australian Taxation Office (ATO), Services Australia, NDIS and other agencies managing personal or health-related data.
And for infrastructure, building, and construction workers, a Baseline clearance for workers is sought for defence-related projects. In practical terms, even roles that were historically considered "non-sensitive" are now falling within clearance-required environments.
